Cardinals are Tied for Fourth After Second Round of Bettie Lou Evans Invitational

Thienna Huynh is tied for second overall heading into the final round
NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. — The Louisville women's golf team is tied for fourth overall after the second round of the Bettie Lou Evans Invitational on Monday. The Cardinals as a team carded an 11-over-par 299 in the second round, just one stroke off their opening round score of 298. They sit at 21-over-par 597 heading into the final round of action on Tuesday.
Junior transfer Thienna Huynh continued to lead the way for the Cardinals in the second round on Monday. She tallied a 1-over-par 73 and is tied for second overall at even par through 36 holes. Huynh tallied five birdies over the course of the second round.
Carmen Griffiths improved in the second round when she tallied a 2-over-par 74. She is tied for 21st overall at 6-over-par for the tournament after a first round 76. One stroke behind Griffiths is Millie Cottrell after scoring a 4-over-par 76 in the second round. She is tied for 25th overall on the leaderboard.
Also tied with Cottrell on the leaderboard is freshman Bailey Burkett, who is competing as an individual this week. She put together a 2-over-par 74 in the second round, improving on her 77 shot in the opening round on Sunday to be tied with Cottrell at 25th overall.
After shooting a 76 in her first collegiate round, freshman Veronika Exposito tallied another 4-over-par 76 in the second round and is tied for 31st overall.
Another individual competing for the Cards this week is Beatriz Barrios and she also scored a 2-over-par 74 in the second round. Barrios is tied for 37th overall at 9-over-par through 36 holes.
Gabbi Bentancourt rounded out the action for the Cardinals as she is 59th overall after an 84 in the second round.
