November 04, 2025 | Football
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Caullin Lacy of the University of Louisville will be recognized by the National College Football Awards Association as the Paul Hornung Award National Player of the Week on Tuesday.
Lacy, a punt returner and wide receiver, had six receptions for 53 yards, including a 24-yard catch for his second touchdown reception of the season in Louisville's 28-16 win over Virginia Tech last Saturday.
The Mobile, Ala, native was instrumental in the punt return game, returning three punts for 106 yards, tying his total versus Bowling Green as the eighth most punt return yards in a game in program history. His 63-yard return in the third quarter put the ball down at the five-yardline and the Cards scored two plays later to take the lead for good at 21-16.
His 35.3-yard punt return average was tied for the fourth highest single-game average in program history and is the only Louisville player to have multiple 100-yard punt return games, logging his third.
On the season, Lacy has recorded 422 punt return yards, trailing only Damien Dorsey's 508 yards in 2002 on the single-season list
