Bilal Powell To Be Inducted into the 2026 Kentucky Football Pro Hall of Fame

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Former University of Louisville running back Bilal Powell is one of five former football players to be inducted into the 2026 Kentucky Pro Football Hall of Fame, the nation's only state specific Pro Football Hall of Fame.

A native of Lakeland, Fla., Powell excelled for the Cardinals from 2007-2010 where he rushed for 2,338 yards and 19 touchdowns during his career. He owns 11 career 100-yard games and picked up a pair of 200-yard rushing performances.

As a senior, Powell earned first team All-BIG EAST Conference honors after rushing for 1,405 yards in guiding the Cards to their first bowl win since the 2006 season. In back to-back games, Powell rushed for 204 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns against Memphis and followed it up with a season-high 209 yards and two touchdowns against Cincinnati.

Powell was a fourth-round selection by the New York Jets and went on to play nine seasons in the NFL, rushing for 3,675 yards and 15 touchdowns.

One of five inductees, Powell joins Jerry Blanton and Ermal Allen from Kentucky, Chad Pennington from Marshall and Mark Pike from Dixie Heights High School.
