LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Head coach Jeff Walz and his staff are excited to announce the addition of transfer guard Deniya Prawl. Prawl was a McDonald's All-American and 5-star recruit and played her first collegiate season at Tennessee.
"Deniya Prawl is going to be an outstanding addition to our program," said Walz. "She's a versatile 6-foot-2 guard with the ability to impact the game in a variety of ways. Her length and athleticism allow her to defend multiple positions, while offensively she can score from the perimeter and effectively attack the basket. Deniya possesses tremendous upside, and we're excited about her potential and the versatility she brings to our roster. I'm looking forward to having her in our program and helping her continue to develop her game."
In her first season, Prawl appeared in 29 games and made seven starts while averaging 4.0 points and 2.7 rebounds while shooting 41.3% from the field. She tallied her first career double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds against Missouri. In the win over No. 11 Kentucky, Prawl had nine points, four rebounds and a season-best four steals. She was a perfect 4-for-4 from the field for nine points against No. 11 Oklahoma.
Prawl was a consensus 5-star recruit coming out of IMG Academy in Florida. She guided IMG to back-to-back appearances in the Chipotle Nationals title game and won the title in her senior season. Prawl was a McDonald's All-American and played in the Jordan Brand Classic. Internationally, she won silver with Team Canada at the 2024 FIBA U17 Women's World Cup. She also was selected for the World Team at the 2025 Nike Hoop Summit.
