
Louisville Tied for 18th After Round 1 of NCAA Championships

CARLSBAD, Calif. – The University of Louisville men's golf team is in a tie for 18th after the first round of the NCAA Championships, hosted at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, Calif.
Brady Smith leads the way for the Cards, posting an even-par 72 on the day. Andrew Tan is right behind him with a 1-over-par 73, and Easton Johnson carded a 2-over-par 74. Warren Thomis finished at 3-over-par 75 and Cooper Claycomb finished 6-over-par 78.
"We really need to get focused as a team and take advantage of tomorrow," said Head Coach Ryan Blagg. "We didn't take advantage of the round today but we're still in a good spot. We just really need to get out there and make some birdies tomorrow."
The Cards will return for round two tomorrow with tee times starting at 3:45 p.m. ET.
