Ryan Conwell Picked 37th Overall by Oklahoma City Thunder

Conwell’s draft rights were immediately traded to the Miami Heat
NEW YORK – University of Louisville guard Ryan Conwell has been selected in the second round of the 2026 NBA Draft by the Oklahoma City Thunder with the 37th overall pick (Second Round, Pick 7). His draft rights were then immediately traded to the Miami Heat.
This becomes the first time Louisville has had multiple players selected in the same draft since 2015 following Mikel Brown Jr.'s first-round selection by the Brooklyn Nets on Tuesday night.
No Louisville Cardinal has been drafted to the organization under the Oklahoma City Thunder name, but three Cardinals were drafted to the organization when the team was recognized as the Seattle SuperSonics from 1967 to 2008. The SuperSonics drafted Jerry King in 1969 (60th overall), Ron Thomas in 1972 (90th overall) and Scooter McCray in 1983 (36th overall).
Louisville has had 79 NBA Draft picks in the program's history, with 20 players playing in the NBA in the last 11 years.
Conwell led Louisville in scoring with an average of 18.8 points per game, shooting 40.8% from the floor and 34.5% from the arc. The Second Team All-ACC selection appeared and started in 34 games for the Cardinals.
The Indianapolis, Ind., native finished the season sixth in the league in scoring, 10th in free throw percentage and eighth in 3-point field goal percentage. He pulled down 4.8 boards per game to go along with 2.7 assists per outing.
Conwell knocked down 112 3-pointers on the year, averaging 3.29 per game, ranking in the top 20 nationally in the category. His 112 makes was top 15 and his 325 total attempts was second overall in the country. He scored in double digit figures in 33 of the 34 games he played in, recording 15 20-point performances and two outings to 30-plus points.
