David comes to U of L from St. Xavier High School where he swam for Marty O'Toole. In 2006, he helped St. Xavier win the State Championship. At the 2006 KHSA Championship, he placed fourth in the 100-breaststroke. He was a Sectional qualifier in 2006. He swam for the Lakeside swim team for Coach Todd Larkin and helped them with the USS state meet in 2006. David was also recruited by Ohio University, Towson University, and Florida Atlantic University.

Personal: He is the son of Edward and Barbara Bell. He plans on majoring in marketing. David was born December 22, 1987.
