2025-26: At the NCAA Championships, Dennis anchored the 200-medley relay with a 20.71 split to help the team tie for second and earn First Team All-American honors with a 1:32.35. Individually, Dennis earned First Team All-American honors in the 50-yard freestyle in fifth place with a 21.15, and in the 100-yard freestyle in eighth place with a 47.02. She also helped the 400-yard freestyle relay earn First Team All-American honors in seventh place, swimming the second leg in 46.54. She wrapped up NCAAs helping the 400-yard medley relay claim First Team All-American honors in eighth place with a 3:25.58, anchoring with a 46.80. At the ACC Championships, Dennis anchored a 20.63 to help the 200-yard medley relay take the title and earn All-ACC honors with a 1:32.26. She also swam the second leg of the 400-yard freestyle relay in 47.05 to help the team claim silver and earn All-ACC honors with a time of 3:08.14. In the 200-yard freestyle relay, she swam the second leg in 20.79 to help the team secure bronze and All-ACC honors with a 1:25.34. To wrap up relays, she anchored the bronze medal 400-yard medley relay with a split of 46.15 to help the team finish with a 3:25.16. Individually, she secured All-ACC honors in the 50-yard freestyle with a silver medal finish of 21.21. She also took fourth in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 46.79. She wrapped up individual action in the 200-yard freestyle, taking second in the C-final with a 1:45.07. She was also named ACC Women’s Swimmer of the Week for the week of Nov. 4 and Jan. 13. Dennis also earned the NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship to support her graduate studies. She was also named to the All-ACC Academic team. During the Dual Meet Season: Facing Xavier, Dennis competed in the 200-yard medley relay, with her team finishing third in exhibition and earning a split of 22.44. She then competed in the 50-yard freestyle, finishing second with a time of 22.83. Afterwards she swam in the 100-yard butterfly, finishing first in exhibition with a time of 58.96. Then she swam in the 400-yard freestyle relay, finishing first and earning a split of 50.98. At the SMU Classic in Dallas, she swam in the 400-yard medley relay, placing first with a 46.85 split. She then competed in the 50-yard freestyle championship heat, placing first with the fastest time in the field with a 21.54. After that she competed in the 800-yard freestyle relay, where her team finished first and earned a split of 1:46.68. She moved onto the 200-yard medley relay, garnering a first-place finish with a 21.27 split. She then competed in the 200-yard freestyle relay, where her team placed first and she swam a split of 21.43. Afterwards she competed in the 100-yard freestyle, where she set a pool record set in 2018 and finished first with a time of 47.52. Later she competed in the 400-yard freestyle relay, helping her team finish third. In the meet against Notre Dame, Dennis helped her team by anchoring a first-place finish in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of (1:34.30). Then she would secure another first-place finish, this time in the 50-yard freestyle. She also competed in the 400-yard freestyle relay, helping her team claim another first-place victory. In the Ohio State Invitational, she put together three-first place finishes, two being as a member of relays in the 200-yard medley relay and the 200-yard freestyle relay. Then she claimed first in the 50-yard freestyle with a 21.36 time. In the meet against Missouri, she competed in the 200-yard medley relay, where her team finished first with a time of 1:34.69, and she swam a split of 21.26. Later, she swam in the 50-yard freestyle, recording a time of 21.78 to finish first with the fastest split of 10.35. She then swam in the 100-yard freestyle, where she finished first with a time of 48.02. Later, she competed in the 400-yard freestyle relay, where she helped her team finish first with an overall time of 3:12.36 and swam a split of 47.36. At the Texas Showdown she helped bring home four top-finishes. In the 200-yard and 400-yard relay, she helped the Cards earn the top spot. Also, in the400-yard medley relay she helped the Cardinals to a first-place spot. In individual competition she took home first-place honors in the 50-yard free with a time of 21.55. Against the University of Cincinnati, Dennis participated in the 200-yard medley relay with a 23.30 split, placing second. She placed first in the 50-yard freestyle with a 21.86 time. For the 200-yard freestyle relay, Dennis placed first with a split of 20.93.
Freshman: Julia Dennis’ freshman debut made the future of Cardinal sprinting look bright. At the NCAAs, she made the consol finals in the 50 free with a 21.87 for honorable mention All-American honors. She earned All-American honors with a third place in the 200 free relay, with a 21.39 third leg split in 1:25.73, the second fastest time in school history. Another All-American honor came when she swam the third leg of the 400 free relay in 47.49, helping the Cards to a third-place time of 3:09.57 for the second fastest time in school history. At ACCs, she scored 45 points, winning silver in the 200 Free Relay and the 400 Free Relay. The Cards boarded a time of 1:25.29 to set a school record as Dennis put up a third leg split of 21.43. The same foursome set a school mark in the 400 Free Relay, eclipsing the old mark by more than 2 seconds with a 3:08.92 with Dennis splitting a third leg of 47.11. She won the B-final in both the 50 free with a 21.83 and the 100 free with a 47.93. In the dual season, she notched several notable wins including wins over Cincinnati in the 100 and 200 freestyle, she helped the 200 free relay team win versus Indiana and won the 400 Free Relay at Kentucky. She also won the 50 free at Missouri as well as the 400 Free Relay at that same meet.
Prep: One of the top female swimmers in Mississippi, Dennis brings the speed to the Cardinals this year. Swimming for Shockwave Aquatics, Dennis finished the club swim season by placing 2nd in the 50 freestyle at the 2022 USA Swimming Futures Championship in Cary. Dennis won the 50 freestyle at the 2019 Mississippi Swimming Long Course Championships and was runner-up for the 100 freestyle. From Oxford High School, Dennis was a three-time state champion winning the 50 freestyle twice and the 500 freestyle once. The Oxford, Mississippi native has best times of 22.59 in the 50 freestyle, 49.49 in the 100 freestyle, 1:48.62 in the 200 freestyle, and 5:03.08 in the 500 freestyle.
