2025-26: At the NCAA Championships, Helmboldt tied for 35th in the platform dive with a score of 215.25. At the ACC Championships, she placed 25th in the 1-meter dive (243.50) and 23rd in the 3-meter dive (240.35). Helmboldt was also named to the All-ACC Academic team. During the Dual Meet Season: Matching up against Xavier, Helmboldt competed in the 3-meter dive, finishing first in exhibition with a final score of 317.55. In Dallas at the SMU Classic, she competed in the 3-meter dive once again, finishing first in the championship heat with a final score of 305.85. She then competed in the one-meter dive, where she finished first with a total score of 274.50. In the meet against Notre Dame, Helmboldt finished third in the platform dive. She then captured a first-place finish in the 1M dive. At the Ohio State Invitational, she placed 10th in both the platform dive (225.75) and 3-meter dive (286.85).\
2024-25: Samm Helmboldt competed for the Cards at the NCAA Championships in Federal Way, Washington in both the 1M and platform. She placed 23rd on platform (251.50) and 41st in IM (246.85). At NCAA Zone C Qualifier, she was 10th in the finals of the 1M with a 524.65, she was ninth in the platform finals (484.35) and 19th in the 3M springboard. At the 2025 ACC Swimming and Diving Championships in Greensboro, she was 22nd in the 1M (236.15), 15th in 3M (274.05) and 22nd in platform (212.25). During the 2024-2025 dual meet season, she won 1M versus Cincinnati (309.75), she was second in 3M (331.88) versus Indiana. She was third on both 1M (275.18) and 3M (308.78) versus Kentucky. Against Tennessee She was second on both the 1M (255.68 and 3M (281.33) and had the same outcome against Xavier in 1M (273.68) and 3M (287.70).
2023-24: Samm qualified for NCAA Zone C Championships and posted a 223.35 on the 3M board. She finished third at the Missouri Meet on both the 1M (213.60) and 3M (291.60). At the 2023 Winter Nationals Qualifier, she finished tenth in the finals on the 1M (213.60) and (223.25). At the House of Champions Invitational at IUPUI, she finaled on platform with a 261.35, on 1M with a 258.10 and 3M where she posted a 278.75. She won 3M at Auburn with a 289.65 and was second against Xavier in the 1M with a 259.20.
Prep: Helmboldt is from Midland, Texas where she dove for COM Aquatics under coach Omar Ojeda and Arizona Connections Academy. Competing internationally, Helmboldt won gold on the platform at both Marginalen Bank Diving Cup and Euro Finans Diving Lund. She placed silver for the one meter at Marginalen Bank Diving Cup, along with bronze three meter and bronze one meter for Euro Finans Diving Lund. She qualified for the ISF Junior Olympic Games and placed as a finalist for the US Open One meter. She was named Junior Nationals 1 meter finalist and platform finalist. Helmboldt placed as AAU National Champion ten times and Regional Champion eight times. She competed for Team USA in Sweden at the Marginalen Bank Diving Cup and Euro Finans Diving Lund. where she won gold.
