Cardinals Host Kentucky on Friday Night in Lynn Stadium

Cardinals will play the Wildcats in the Battle of the Bluegrass
LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The University of Louisville women's soccer team will host in-state rival Kentucky on Friday night at 5:30 p.m. as part of a double header with the men's team. The game will be a 'Red Out' and all fans are encouraged to wear red to the match. Â
Louisville enters the the third weekend of action with a 4-0 overall record. Â The Cardinals collected two road wins last week with a 1-0 win at Dayton on Thursday and a 3-1 win at Michigan on Sunday. Â Junior Brooklynn Rivers scored her first career hat trick against the Wolverines. Â Â

Rivers and Maisie Whitsett  lead the team in scoring with three goals and one assist for seven points.  Freshman Delaney Snyder ranks second on the team with two goals and one assist for five points.  Returning leading scorer Emina Ekic ranks third with two goals after the first week of play. Â

Gabby Kouzelos has started every game in goal for the Cardinals. Â She has a 0.77 goals against average and a .500 save percentage. Â Senior Gabrielle Vincent anchors the Cardinals defense at centerback.

Head coach Karen Ferguson-Dayes is in her 19th season with the Cardinals. She has led Louisville to four NCAA tournament appearances, including a Sweet 16 appearance in 2011. Â
SCOUTING KENTUCKY
The Kentucky Wildcats are off to a 3-1-0 start this season, most recently falling to Wisconsin 3-1 on Sunday. All two of the three Wildcat wins have come in overtime one in the 97th minute and another in the 105th minute. Â Â

Yuuka Kurasaki leads the team in scoring with three goals and one assist for seven points. Â Holly Olding ranks second on the team in scoring with three goals for six points. Â Abby Steiner rounds out the top scorers with one goal and two assists for four points.

Hannah Leonard leads Kentucky in goal, starting every match for the Wildcats. Â She owns a 1.67 goals against average and has collected nine saves on the year. Â Â Â Â

Head coach Ian Cary is in his second season at the helm of the Wildcats. Â He guided Kentucky to a 8-12-0 overall record in his first season. Â
SERIES HISTORY
The match marks the 22nd all-time meeting between the two schools, since the Cardinals went varsity in 1985. Â The Wildcats lead the series 14-6-1 overall. Louisville took last year's meeting in Lexington 3-1 over Kentucky on a very wet night in Lexington. Â Â
