CHARLOTTE, N.C. – University of Louisville outside hitter Chloe Chicoine has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Offensive Player of the Week, as announced by the conference on Monday.
The senior averaged 5.33 kills per set on a .384 hitting percentage to lead Louisville to a pair of sweeps over Duke and No. 23 North Carolina and earn the first ACC weekly award of her career.
Chicoine opened the weekend with a bang on Oct. 16 against Duke, putting down 18 kills on an eye-popping .607 hitting percentage, the highest hitting percentage of her career in a match where she recorded at least 10 kills.
She followed that performance up with 14 kills and nine digs in a sweep over No. 23 North Carolina on Oct. 18, leading the Cardinals to their seventh win over a ranked opponent this season.
In her second season with Louisville after transferring from Purdue, Chicoine has established herself as one of the top players in the nation, leading the Cards to an 18-2 start while recording double-digit kills in 17 of the first 20 matches of the season and averaging over four kills per set.
Chicoine and the rest of the Cardinals will return to the court with a road match at Florida State on Friday, Oct. 23. First serve is set for 6 p.m. ET, and the match will be streamed on ACCNX.
