Â
Louisville took the 1-0 lead into the break after owning an 8-0 advantage in shots and a 4-0 edge in penalty corners.
Â
The Cards continued the scoring early in the third quarter when senior Sep connected on penalty corner assists from senior Plumb and Perez to register her fifth goal of the season.
Â
Everslage followed suit with her fifth goal of the season after connecting on a penalty corner shot from Sep in the first minute of the third quarter. Ten minutes later, Â Kearin chipped in her first career goal with penalty corner assists from Plumb and Perez to cap the scoring.
Â
Overall, Louisville led in shots on goal (16-1) and penalty corners (12-0).
Â
After three straight games at home, the Cardinals will hit the road for an Atlantic Coast Conference matchup at No. 11 Syracuse on Friday at 3 p.m.
"It's always great to play against a local team in Bellarmine, and we want to try to do that more moving forward," said UofL head coach Justine Sowry. "We were able to get a lot of different people in which means that it was a little bit choppy with our different combinations, I thought that defensively we looked pretty good and as the game went on, we felt fairly comfortable, but now all eyes are on Syracuse. It's a very short turnaround and we look forward to our next ACC game."
