Cards Fall to Seventh Place at the Calusa Cup

NAPLES, Fla. – The University of Louisville men's golf team shot a 4-over-par 292 to dip into seventh place after round two of the Calusa Cup on Monday.
After sitting in a three-way tie for the lead on Sunday, the Cardinals stand at 1-under-par after 36 holes with rounds of 283-292. Florida holds the lead after the second day, followed by USF and Virginia. Purdue, Eastern Michigan and Iowa round out the top five heading into Tuesday's final round.
Warren Thomis is currently in sixth place after he shot a second round score of 69 to move him to five-under place for the first two days of the tournament. Thomis recorded two birdies and an eagle on No. 6 to move him into contention for the tournament lead. The sophomore enters the final round just just five shots off the lead.
Cooper Claycomb and Andrew Tan are tied for 17th place at 1-over-par heading into Tuesday's action. Easton Johnson is tied for 21st at 2-over-par and Brady Smith dipped into a tie for 29th place at 5-over-par.
The Cardinals will tee off on the back nine beginning at 8 a.m. on Tuesday morning.
