Davis, Rose Earn All-American Honors
June 10, 2026 | Baseball
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville baseball program added a pair of All-Americans to its impressive list as Perfect Game and the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association announced their teams on Wednesday.
Tague Davis was a First Team selection for both organizations, while Zion Rose was a Second Team honoree for Perfect Game.
The two become the 35th and 36th Louisville players to earn All-America honors and the 32nd and 33rd during Dan McDonnell's tenure.
This marks the first time the Cardinals have had multiple All-Americans in the same season since 2018 when Josh Stowers, Adam Wolf and Logan Wyatt were recognized.
The 2026 ACC Player of the Year, Davis had arguably the greatest offensive season in Louisville baseball history. The sophomore set the Louisville single-season home run (34) and RBI (98) records, leading all of Division I baseball in both categories. Davis also broke the ACC's single-season home run record, previously held by Florida State's J.D. Drew and Wake Forest's Brock Wilken.
The West Chester, Pa., native was the first player to lead Division I in homers and RBIs during the regular season since 2003, and his 96 RBIs during the regular season were tied for the most by any player in the last 23 years.
Davis added the All-America recognition to a long list of honors this season. He was already named a finalist for the Dick Howser Trophy, Baseball America National Player of the Year, and Bobby Bragan National Collegiate Slugger Award. Davis was also named the NCBWA Division I District 3 Player of the Year and ABCA/Rawlings All-Midwest Region.
Rose played in just 36 games during the 2026 season but earned All-America status because of how impactful he was in that time.
The junior led the team with a .417 average, finishing with 13 doubles, six homers and 47 RBI. Rose also drew more walks and HBPs (25) than strikeouts (15) and was 24-for-27 in stolen bases.
The Chicago native played more than 70 percent of his games against ACC competition, finishing fifth in the league with a .390 average in conference play and tied for the ACC lead with 18 stolen bases in league play.
The All-America honor rounds out the collection during Rose's career, joining his Lou Gehrig Community Impact Team co-Captain honor for his would in the community, and the 2025 NCAA Elite 90 Award and CSC Academic All-America honor recognizing his accomplishments in the classroom.
