LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Head Coach Ryan Blagg of the University of Louisville men's golf team was named the 2026 NCAA Division I Golf Pride Grips Midwest Region Coach of the Year, the Golf Coaches Association of America announced Tuesday.
This marks just the second time that Louisville has had a Regional Coach of the Year honoree, with Mark Crabtree earning the distinction in 2007.
Coach Blagg led the Cardinals to their eighth straight NCAA Regional this season and the sixth NCAA Championship in program history. At the NCAA Athens Regional, the Cards shot a 26-under-par 826 as a team, the lowest regional score in program history.
Louisville had eight top five finishes this season, highlighted by three runner-up finishes and a third-place finish. After receiving the No. 6 seed in the NCAA Regional, the Cards finished second at the regional, the highest finish in regional program history. The Cards also finished seventh in the ACC Championships, making their first ever match play appearance.
