Men's Tennis Picks Up Four Wins in Gators Ranked +1 Tournament

Gomez and Rouanet finish runner-up in Blue Doubles Consolation Draw

The University of Louisville men's tennis team picked up four wins on day two of the Gators Ranked +1 Tournament.

Federico Gomez and Nicolas Rouanet posted a runner-up finish in the consolation draw of the Blue Doubles division. The pair defeated Wake Forest's Yuval Solomon and Kentucky's Jake Stefanik 8-4. Sophomore Parker Wynn and junior Brandon Lancaster also picked up singles wins in the Orange Division consolation draw.

Lancaster teamed with Florida's Johannes Inglidsen to reach the doubles finals of the Orange Division. The pair defeated South Carolina's Paul Jubb and Mississippi State's Strahinjaa Rakic before falling 8-4 to Florida's McClain Kessler and Chase Perez-Blanco 8-0.

"When you play a tournament with so many players from teams that advanced in the NCAA Tournament, every match is tough," said UofL Rex Ecarma. "Almost every match that Brandon played was against nationally ranked players, which is a great experience for him. He and his Florida doubles partner made it to the finals. This level of play will strengthen our resolve and make us a better team."
