Three Cardinals earned first-set victories in singles competition
SOUTH BEND, Ind. - The University of Louisville men's tennis team dropped its match 4-0 in the regular season finale against regional rival Notre Dame Saturday afternoon.Â
Notre Dame (20-6, 9-4 ACC) claimed the early advantage by taking down the top two courts in doubles competition. The No. 57 Fighting Irish duo of Luis Llorens Saracho and Peter Nad clinched the doubles point with a 6-3 win on court two.
In singles play, Notre Dame took down courts one, six then two in straight sets to secure the 4-0 victory.Â
Andre' Steinbach, Hamza El Amine and Pedro Cressoni earned first set victories in each of their abandoned matches.Â
Louisville (17-12, 5-8 ACC) will turn its attention to the postseason with the Atlantic Coast Conference Championship beginning April 14. Draws will be announced April 12 at approximately 10 p.m. ET.
