No. 4 Louisville Heads North to Face Notre Dame

The Cardinals swept Notre Dame (25-16, 25-18, 25-18) on Wednesday, Sept. 30
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The No. 4-ranked University of Louisville volleyball team heads to South Bend, Ind., to square off against Notre Dame once again on Saturday, Oct. 3. First serve is set for 1 p.m. ET and the match will be streamed on ACCNX.
The two teams will be squaring off for the second time in four days, as the Cardinals took care of the Fighting Irish in three sets on Wednesday, Sept. 30. The Cards hit the road once again after Wednesday's match against Notre Dame ended a streak of seven straight matches away from Louisville. The Cardinals look to extend their winning streak against the Fighting Irish to 11 matches.

TEAM NOTES
- Louisville continues to boast one of the best offenses in the country in 2026. Through their first 15 contests, the Cards rank second nationally in team hitting percentage (.320) and third in kills per set (14.50).
- The Cards remain one of the most balanced teams in the conference, topping the leaderboard in multiple categories. UofL ranks first in the ACC in assists per set (13.20), kills per set (14.50), opponent hitting percentage (.161) and team total blocks (138.5).
- The Cardinals sit at No. 4 in the AVCA/Taraflex Coaches Poll, their fourth consecutive week ranked within the top five nationally. UofL was also picked to finish third in the ACC Preseason Coaches Poll over the summer.
- In its conference home opener, Louisville swept Notre Dame (25-16, 25-18, 25-18) on Sept. 30, their third straight win to open ACC play.
PLAYER NOTES
- Outside hitter Chloe Meester powered Louisville's offense against the Fighting Irish on Sept. 30. The sophomore hit .579 with 13 kills while adding a career-best four aces. The dominant performance marked her 10th double-digit kill outing of the year and the third time she has hit over .500 this season.
- Outside hitter Chloe Chicoine added to the Cardinals' offensive efforts against Notre Dame, totaling 12 kills on a .333 clip. She has now eclipsed the double-digit kill mark in 14 matches and has hit at least .300 in 12 matches this year.
- Setter Nayelis Cabello added to her stellar season against the Fighting Irish, orchestrating the Cardinals' attack to a .353 hitting percentage after dishing out 32 assists. The junior also helped shut down Notre Dame's offense, tallying 10 digs and stuffing four blocks to contribute on the defensive end of the court.
- Middle blocker Addison Makun led Louisville's defense with five blocks against the Fighting Irish, her fourth straight match with at least five blocks. The sophomore was named ACC Defensive Player of the Week on Sept. 28 after averaging 2.33 blocks per set in sweeps over Syracuse and Boston College.
