CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. — No. 12 Louisville women's soccer suffered just its second loss of the season on Thursday night, falling 3-0 at No. 19 Virginia, snapping the team's program best 13-match unbeaten streak.
Virginia (9-3-3, 5-3-1 ACC) broke the lengthy first half stalemate on a free kick goal off the foot of Addison Halpern in the 31st minute.
Coming out of the break, the Cavaliers doubled their lead in the 48th minute before adding on another goal less than a minute later, coming once again from Halpern, for a 3-0 lead.
UofL (10-2-3, 4-1-3 ACC) put just two shots on net, one from Liza Suydam and one from McKalie Ball.
Despite allowing three goals, Brielle Baker tied her season and career-high with five saves in the match.
Up next, Louisville will begin a two-match homestand to end the regular season, hosting Boston College at Dr. Mark & Cindy Lynn Stadium on Sunday, November 1 at 1 p.m. ET.
