
Cards Finish 13th at Fighting Irish Classic

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The University of Louisville men's golf team finished 13th at the Fighting Irish Classic on Monday at Warren Golf Course, closing the tournament with a three-round score of 878 (+38).
The Cardinals opened the tournament with rounds of 287 and 290 on Sunday before posting a 301 in Monday's final round. Louisville competed in a 14-team field that included eight teams ranked among the top 50 nationally entering the event.
Warren Thomis led the Cardinals individually, tying for 43rd at 8-over-par 218. The junior carded rounds of 73, 70 and 75, finishing the tournament with a team-best 70 in the second round.
Will Judd followed in a tie for 47th at 219 (+9), opening the tournament with a career-low 4-under-par 67 before rounds of 75 and 77. Judd's 67 marked Louisville's lowest round of the tournament.
Adam Buchanan finished tied for 57th at 222 (+12) after rounds of 72, 72 and 78, while Barron Mundy tied for 62nd at 223 (+13) with rounds of 77, 73 and 73. Max VanderMolen rounded out Louisville's lineup, tying for 76th at 232 (+22) after shooting 75, 81 and 76.
Louisville will return to action Oct. 18-20 at The Williams Cup in Wilmington, N.C., the final tournament of the fall slate for the Cards.
