Louisville (5-3, 4-2 ACC) totaled 545 yards, 296 of which were on the ground. The Cards exploded in the third quarter with three touchdowns, including a fumble recovery for a score.
The Cardinals offense was led by Lincoln Kienholz, who racked up over 300 yards and was responsible for three touchdowns for the fifth time this season. Tre Richardson had a career best day totaling 10 receptions for 140 yards, both career highs for the senior.
Isaac Brown rushed for 139 yards and three touchdowns while tallying 33 yards and a touchdown in the air. Brown scored a career high four touchdowns becoming the first player with four touchdowns in a game since Lamar Jackson against Florida State in 2016.
Stanquan Clark finished with a team-high eight total tackles while Kalib Perry added five tackles, four solo. The Louisville defense also tallied two sacks and an interception.
Louisville Head Coach Jeff Brohm said:
"Proud of our football team, it was a good win for us. I thought we showed great fight. I thought we came out and played much better in the second half. Obviously in the first half there were some things that happened here and there we'd like to clean up and be better at, but we continued to respond and our guys continued to fight the entire game. Defense came up with a timely interception to give us a momentum shift and get us up by two scores and we took it and ran with it from there. That's what you've got to do when you're playing conference games and Power Four opponents, you never know what's going to happen. You've got to try to play the best you can, but you've got to just continue to fight the entire game and let your players try to make plays. Fortunately for us we were able to get that done and get the win."How it Happened
