Cardinals Fall at Wake Forest in ACC Regular Season Finale

 WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- The University of Louisville women's tennis team fell 4-0 to Wake Forest in the Atlantic Coast Conference regular season finale Sunday afternoon in Winston-Salem, N.C.Â

The Cardinals dropped the doubles point to start the match. The No. 1 team of Elena Noguero and Berta Miret fell 6-1 to Nevena Carton and Sankavi Gownder. The Deacons clinched the point when Krystal Blanch and Aubrey Nisbet downed Alice Otis and Lucia Gallegos 6-1 on court three.Â

In singles, the Deacons maintained their momentum on their senior day. Kady Tannenbaum prevailed over Rebekkah Gaines 6-1, 6-2 on court six to score the first point. UofL's Elena Noguero was the next to fall with a 6-1, 6-3 loss to Evie Oxford at No. 3. Wake clinched the match on a 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 1 singles with Nevena Carton taking the W for the Deacs.Â

The Cardinals will celebrate their Senior Day against Austin Peay on Saturday, April 11 at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center.
