Women's Tennis Set to Host NKU

Cards play at 2 p.. Saturday at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center.
The University of Louisville women's tennis team returns to competition this weekend and will host Northern Kentucky this Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center.

The Cardinals are 2-0 on the season after defeating Western Kentucky 4-2 and Southern Illinois 5-2 last weekend. Â Sophomores Abbie Pahz, Jessie Lynn Paul, and Ariana Rodriguez joined junior Olivia Boesing by getting victories in both singles matches against WKU and SIU.

The Cards are led by the doubles team of Ariana Rodriguez and Sena Suswam, who are ranked No. 54 in the nation according to the ITA poll. The pair picked up a victory over Southern Illinois 6-4 last weekend.

NKU opens their 2016 slate with a match against Bowling Green Friday night before facing the Cards on Saturday. The Norse, who were picked to finish seventh in the Horizon League poll, are led by juniors Danielle Donahue and Sierra Nellessen who posted a 5-1 and 3-1 record, respectively, in singles matches during the fall.Â
