Cards' Offense Powers Series Win Over Notre Dame
April 12, 2026 | Softball
Louisville had 15 hits and 13 runs, led by a 7-RBI performance from Camryn Lookadoo.
Lookadoo went 3-for-4 with two home runs and a double and crossed home four times to power Louisville (34-9, 10-5 ACC). Easton Lotus, Madison Pickens, Taylor Monroe and Jordan Williams added one RBI apiece and combined for seven hits on the day. Chelsea Mack went 3-for-5, scoring three runs and stealing two bases, which tied her for the most swiped bags in a single season in program history. Jayden Gohs, Alyssa Zabala and Madi Reeves combined for the win, allowing just one walk and five runs between the three of them.
Mack started off the game with a bunt single, coming around to score on an error from the Irish. Easton Lotus followed that up with a single of her own, and Lookadoo launched her first home run of the day to right field to give the Cards an early 3-0 lead.
Gohs faced four batters in the home frame, and Katie Thatcher kept the momentum going with a leadoff single in the second. Mack joined Thatcher on the bases with just one out, and Lotus plated Thatcher with her second single of the day. Lookadoo then struck again with her second home run of the day, this time a three-run shot to center field.
ND grabbed its first run in the bottom of the third, but Williams used a fielder's choice to bring in Lookadoo and put UofL ahead 8-1. After a 1-2-3 fourth frame from Zabala, Louisville plated another run in Riley Janda off of a Notre Dame error.
The Irish avoided the run-rule with a two-run home run in the bottom of the fifth, and both teams had their bats kept quiet in the sixth.
Mack and Despines both reached base with one out in the top of the seventh before three straight doubles from Lookadoo, Madison Pickens and Taylor Monroe gave the Cards a 13-3 lead. ND's Lily Hagan hit her second home run of the game in the bottom of the seventh, but the Irish could not complete the comeback as the game ended 13-5.
UofL will be back in action on Wednesday, April 15, when the Cards welcome Indiana to Ulmer Stadium for an 8 p.m. matchup. The game will be broadcast nationally on the ACC Network.
